Another sad piece Natalie?!?
From every death comes life! And there for it was costumed to plant a tree next to a grave in the old days... some still do it today...
You’re style in this piece is awesome, semi goth and horror, with a touch of classic cards art from the late 30’s... Brilliant!!
I can’t wait to see it colored! Natalie Adams
replies: "it’s been playing on my mind for a while. i love the idea of the tree and grave, it’s a beautiful sentiment. thank you very much, the coloured version will come asap, similar to the others of this style (the witch, the christmas daemon etc.)"

replies: "thankies leah! i don’t really know where it came from, perhaps i was thinking of my story at the time?"

Could you make a shadow tutorial? It looks so cool Natalie Adams
replies: "really? well i could do - it’s very simple really : i just have a Multiply Layer ontop of the colours, and use a light grey (and varying shades of) to colour over where i want the shadows to be, then blur. this way, i get a uniform shadow tone, rather than adding all the different coloured shadows. it’s just easier. Also, i somwtimes finish off using the Burn tool on the Shadow layer to deepen the darkest areas.
Hope that helps, but i can do a tutorial if you like."

I love that mist, and the fact she isn’t wearing any shoes. It makes her feel so young and a little fragile in her grief. Natalie Adams
replies: " thank you. i never really realised i had drawn her with no shoes, it just seemed right. "
