From the myth of Cronus/Saturn (Greek/Roman names), the titan who ate his children at birth to prevent being overthrown, which they eventually did. The moon being devoured is none other than Titan, Saturn's largest moon.

Apologies to Francisco Goya and Peter Paul Rubens.

Done with Ulead Photo Express.

Very nice, but I love the retro 1940’s or 50’s painting style of this.

:-) MT Starkey replies: "Cheers. Certainly different than what I usually do."

This is well done, and FUNNY! I think of British author Douglas Adams’ bookcovers for his Hitchhiker’s Galaxy series.

:-) MT Starkey replies: "Thanks a lot, Anonymous."

absolutely awesome - i have seen Goya’s painting a few times, and this is just so well done - great humour! 1
Nice one - you should see if you can do more things like this, spoof-classical paintings suit you!

:-) MT Starkey replies: "I’d have to say that the Goya version of this is my favourite painting in the world, with the Rubens version a close second. I like to mock things, and yeah I have a couple more floating around like Boogeyhol and Venus.

Thanks heaps for the comment."

Great work. Really funny, especially keeping the original works in mind. And like Natalie pointed out, these really do suit you. Nice warm colours too by the way.

:-) MT Starkey replies: "Thanks a lot. I like doing these ’mockery’ pieces, they seem to come natural.

Why do I keep forgetting to do this? Thank you for mentioning the colours. (leans in to inspect colours, gets nose bitten off by Saturn)"

This is really an awesome idea - I like the play on the myth. This came out very good too, very much your style.
