  | "In this city I bind the walking dead. I restrain those who would forgo the Transition. I maintain the balance. I am known as The Rook and I will not be disobeyed." An idea I came up with based on a Baba Yaga adaptation I've been working on for months and four hours of Sailor Moon. Astrid is seventeen, just starting college, and has the ability to prevent weather from affecting her. She lives in a cynical and pragmatic world, boundaried by her own picket fences of sarcasm. Astrid Lovelock is The Rook — the one who forces difficult souls to make the transition into full death. She actually doesn't care about wreaking vengeance for the innocent dead, or even what lies in the Afterlife. She simply does her job to the best of her ability, while attempting to juggle a real life at the same time. The Rook is a modern-day Angel of Death who thinks the Gods (from all religions) are meddling pests. Scanned in pencil drawing, coloured in PSP9. |
