| 5 May 2003 | Samantha Segan | Loading...This is very good. The lines, the angle of the picture-- great. The eyes are especially well done. I do have some Constructive Criticism, though. For one, your pencil strokes are a little sloppy, especially in the hair. Two, I can sort of tell you used a bad brand of pencil. Try Prismacolors, by Sanford, you get a much richer, stronger line. Even with good pencils, though, you still need to press harder and avoid scribbling. Rather, move the pencil in small, slow circle to color in, for example, the background, which I see is scribbled in this pic. Also, add some shading to the face. And remember, none of this is meant to offend! This is a lovely picture, and I only want to help you improve (: I'm no great shakes at art myself, actually, so feel free to return the criticism. -Samantha | |

You probably shouldn't resort to color until it looks more defined. Don't be afraid to get more bold with the shading. To be honest, this is really nothing special. It doesn't convey anything. It doesn't move or inspire. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another face. But like I said practice makes perfect. You need alot of it.
