As with all poems this could be interpreted in many ways. What I had in mind when writing this one, however, is quite a long story. I'll try to sum it up for you as best I can.

Two sisters caught on opposite sides of a foolish war are trying to quench the thirst of their warmongering husbands by making them realize that they already have all they could ever ask for, all they could possibly need.

This is sort of a tribute to all the warlords of faraway, magical kingdoms, who know of nothing but war, never peace in heart or mind.

Twice given

Twice stolen

Please, accept this unyielding token

In your arms I am unbroken

In your mind I am forever free

Please, let me fly

Let me cry

Let me mourn

And let me soar

On the wings of unbridled joy

Once again

Twice lost

Twice found

I give you this small piece of I

Are we frozen?

Are we broken?

Are we unforgivably kind?

In this quest for life

That we stumble through so blind

Yet seem to find just what we’re looking for

At our journey’s end

Twice whispered

Twice roared

Hear you not the fading howl?

As we draw closer

As we fall apart

We are joined once again

In the bonds of war

In the bonds of love

We keep stumbling forward

Yet keep falling back

Once found

Never lost

Paradise was there all along
