A drawing for my boyfriends mother and her husband. They play golf, and since my boyfriend had make a rather brilliant picture of what happened to the lost golf balls in the woods, they wanted one with the golf balls in the lake as well.

The creature is a swamplady or "mosekone". A character from Danish folklore that lives in swamps or lakes, and makes mist in which people get lost. ;)

Watercolour and Sakura microns on pencil. A3 paper.

Hehe...cute. She probably loves that all sorts of fun trinkets float down from the surface. ^_^ Love her seaweedy hair. ^_^

Golf balls? That`s just genious!!! Great work, keep it up!

:-) Rikke Lindskov ´Gwennafran´ Loft replies: "Hehe, thanks a lot. Like said, the original concept of "missing golf balls" was thought up by my boyfriend, that had little forest creatures eating them like apples. 12"

*ROFL* - this is just BRILLIANT2!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a funny and great idea about the golf balls2!!! hehe, i’m sure that lady enjoys the search of them and longs for them...2! i had to think of ursula from the little mermaid when i first saw her and thought it was some kind of bad merewitch... but the idea with the golfballs make her so much more sympathetic to me2! great stuff, also with the colouring... my congrats for your star2!!!

:-) Rikke Lindskov ´Gwennafran´ Loft replies: "Thanks a lot. As already mentioned, I can’t really take all the credit for the idea. 12
And yes, the whole "overweight mermaid that dresses up" thing automatically makes one think of Ursula. I started thinking about her too while making this, even though that wasn’t what I originally had in mind (I wanted her dress to be very red from the start). "

Lol. i just saw the golf club xD genius. i love the golf balls she is wearing. golf ball ring, golf ball earriings, golf ball tail braislet. ext. love it. and she isnt skinny like original merpeople =)

:-) Rikke Lindskov ´Gwennafran´ Loft replies: "Original merpeople is skinny? Where do you get that from? Logically, I’d say merpeople ought to have some extra body fat to keep warm in the ocean. 12
But yeah. I had a lot of fun coming up with jewellery you could make with golf balls. And the bended golf club always makes me imagine the furious golfer that must have thrown it into the lake. XD"

Awsome pic... interesting backround story there, too! just one question though.... are those little spots on her skin just a swamplady thing or what?
love it though!

:-) Rikke Lindskov ´Gwennafran´ Loft replies: "It’s part of her skin. I just thought of it as a pattern of sorts. A bit like birth marks. 12"
