| An illustration for the card game Bella Sara's edition Northern Light. This is meant to be Donn's horse. The God Donn was the Celtic Good of Death. His house on an Island was a steppingstone to the land of the Death. Donn's horse is a very obscure mythological creature, which naturally belonged to Donn. It would transport you to Donn's home and eventually back again (the other world who later in some ways be turned into the fay world or Avalon from the Arthurian legends). Since the other-world in some ways also was associated with the land of the Death, and Doon was the god of Death, I let the horse have the skeleton shine through the skin. The white colour was practically used on all supernatural Celtic creatures. If a creature was supernatural, there was a pretty good chance that it also was white. ;) |
