| 8 Jun 2007 | John R Farley Jr | If you are looking for tips, tricks and advice, the best thing I can tell you is: Spend the time. Learn to draw faces, bodies, etc. If you want to. Faces and bodies are proportional. Cut out pics of body parts from magazines and draw them individually. By the style of your art, you're probably quite young, so you have lots of time. If anything, be patient. You're not going to get great overnight, but over time, you will get better if you work at it. Same with writing. Read books. Read How they are written. Pick a favorite author and read WHAT he writes or HOW he sets things up. Are you going to be a good artist? That is now up to you. | |

| 24 Jun 2008 | Keeana Penny Borrowman | I agree with John. The best way for someone with undeveloped talents to develope them is to practise, and magazine pictures are best for that; though I suggest starting with black and white photos. Pay close attention to even the slightest shade change; those make the difference. Also, pay attention to proportions. For example, the ear connects to your lead at eye-level at the top, and connects at nose-level at the bottom. Basically, train your eyes to see things not everyone can see. If you really want to get serious, then splurge and buy a good art book in a certified art store. Libraries help, too. Well, good luck! | |
