This is a poem I wrote for a project I did in freshman year. I've been playing around with it for awhile, but I'm still not that happy with it.

Children of the Wind

By Corrine Hunsher

There once were four children,
All same in their age,
Who were called the children of the wind.

They did everything together,
Always smiling, always laughing,
Never were there happier children,
Than the children of the wind.

Each of them had their own special gift,
That they'd never share with anyone else.
For it was their secret and theirs alone,
To share with eachother forevermore.

But one day the sky grew dark,
And the children were swept away
To the four corners of the world.
For it was their fate to be apart,
To spread their gifts and be prisoners to them.

There once were four children,
All same in their age,
Who were called the children of the wind.

They no longer did anything together,
Never smiling, never laughing,
Never were there sadder children,
Than the children of the wind.

Interesting contrasts! I like how it begins happily and then ends completely the opposite, that is a good effect. It does say something about the fate of the four winds, who can never really meet! o.O I like the idea~ ^^ Great work!
