  | As I was wondering in the woods, I found a sudden desire to draw a griffen. I have done very litte with griffens over the years, this being my fourth try at them. The first two were more like doodles, while the third can be seen in 'the realm' elsewhere in my gallery. I did this picture for three reasons; 1) I wanted to draw a griffen, 2) I wanted to try the black background instead of the white, and 3) to try my hand in mixed media. The griffen is done in prismacolor color pencials. Then the feathers are detailed with gel pens, of all things. The body fur is marker. Finished Dec 2002. |
