this was my free piece in cermics.  It is raku fired, which basicly means the temp was raised to 1200 degrees and droped very quickly with water.  My instructor was concerned about the wing just hanging in free space, he thought it would crak and break off.  I told him it was a chance I wanted to take.  This thing barly fit in the kilm (its over a foot high) and it is so heavy that we couldn't move it out of the kilm when it was cooled.  So we cooled it in the kilm.  Too all of our suprise it did not break or crak.  done in 2005
