"Newer- Portrait: Three Sides" by Rita "FyreNWater" Lau

my final project for my Intro to Art 2D class. the assignment was make a representational self-portrait. not a boring realism "looking in a mirror" thing, but whatever you feel represents you.

so here it is. me in the center with a mechanical pencil in my hand (yeah, it looks like i'm smoking it. XD). i use mech pencils very often, so i chose to have that.
Jaylen on the left emerging from a stream of graphite, going from a sketch to a real person. he's not shooting anyone. my peers kept saying, "the guy's shooting the dragon!"
Leila on the right emerging from a sketchbook. i really like how she turned out with transparent wings, and i think i'm gonna keep it that way.

the outlines were done with a fine tip Pilot gel pen and the shading in graphite (blended with tortillions) on smooth Bristol board (~20in x 35in). Len's feet and Lei's tail are also graphite.
