nice drawings, am I right if I say that your strong side is animal and do the coloring?
keep practicing on drawing humans and other creatures that looks like em'.

Rachel 'Thalion' Lawton replies: "My strong spot is definitely animal drawing, but I do work on humans now and then. I get into centaur kicks every now and then, so that helps. Thank you so much for your comment!"

Hi, I’ve just been browsing through your gallery, and you’ve got some really original ideas! Plus your drawing skills are great. As far as I can tell, you generally use the pencil darker or use a slightly darker shade to shade your pictures. I’ve always found with coloured pencils that it’s best not to stick to one colour. When you draw from real life, you’ll find that a shadow isn’t a darker version of the colour, but it’s actually a different shade altogether. Often you’ll find that there are really random and seemingly irrelevant colours there as well, like purple in an ivy leaf, or blue in a violin; these come up a lot in reflections, highlights and shadows. I think it would help make your drawings look more 3D if you use a greater variety of colours in your fantasy pieces, and maybe practised drawing from real life with coloured pencils.
