The Okapi is a creature related to the giraffe but inhabits thick Equatorial forest in Zaire, Africa. For this picture I wanted something attacking it but the only predatory creature I could think of for thick forest was a leopard. This leopard is very young and inexperienced, if he survives the encounter he will know Okapi are too big to take down.

You truly do amaze us. Few mortals even know of the Okapi much less can draw it well. It seems your can do justice to more than just gryphons. The living community honors you, for the honor you have done for them.

I LOVE okapi!! Your artwork is sooo cool and unique! But isn't the leopard a bit too small?
I like how the animals stand out of the setting.

Its great to see all you other okapi fans, but I'm surprised no one else has mentioned his gait- correct me if I'm wrong but I'm almost positive that like giraffes, okapis simultaneously step with both the front and hind leg on the same side of the body. That would mean that although his legs would look great on a horse, they're in the wrong positions. Just thought you should know, because otherwise its a great pic!

ummm...no mean to be rude, this is great in all, but how the HECK is this a fantasy piece! how did you slip this through the mods!

there is tons wrong with this:
119pakis are smaller that that
2:they have horns
3:leopards have bigger PAW LIKE paws(not hands)
4:leopards have bigger heads
5:leopards are predators and they would have their eyes set at the front of their face-not the side
6:the opakis right foreleg looks like it has a string tide there at the top where the elbow is
7:the leopards skull is not shaped like that

also only giraffes, cats, and camels have the 'prance' walk
andhow did you get this past the mods??they probably aren'nt that bright.

*Points to the oerson above* Ok, newsflash. THESE PICS DON'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT! Must people point out everything? Jeeze! I think it's wonderful. 'Tis probably very small leopard, though.

I may do it in my spare time.
