Personally I would work more with clear lines and a starker contrast between shadow and light if doing a cartoon, so it won't look abit messy. I really wish you good luck with finding publishers that will hire you. (Not too easy, i guess...)

You've just added a fish....oooo well done big shot, ive never seen any thing so amazing in my life. God you must hate your life.
