Another image based on Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. In this scene, Lews Therin Kinslayer channels far too much of the One Power, burning himself away in a massive beam of pure saidin. A side note: I met Robert Jordan last week and gave him a print of this image. Luckily, he really liked it!

Fabulous, fabulous work. To clear up the controversy, it's certainly not Balefire (he'd be burning himself out of the Pattern and Rand al'Thor or Lews Therin in his mind could not exist), but it's not lightning either. Here's the passage from the prologue of "The Eye of the World":

"The air turned to fire, the fire to light liquefied. The bolt that struck from the heavens would have seared and blinded any eye that glimpsed it, even for an instant. From the heavens it came, blazed through Lews Therin Telamon, bored into the bowels of the earth. Stone turned to vapor at its touch. The earth thrashed and quivered like a living thing in agony. Only a heartbeat did the shining bar exist, connecting ground and sky, but even after it vanished the earth yet heaved like the sea in a storm. Molten rock fountained five hundred feet into the air, and the groaning ground rose, thrusting the burning spray ever upward, ever higher. From north and south, from east and west, the wind howled in, snapping trees like twigs, shrieking and blowing as if to aid the growing mountain ever skyward. Ever skyward."

Nice image. I was looking around for an avatar and found this fairly quickly. I've met him as well - at a book signing near my area. Got Book 8 signed.

you are a very lucky guy. i sent him a letter, but he has yet to reply.

13 is mostly a significant number when you’re talking about the bad side (for any darkfriends, the bad side is your side). Of corce the whole "max 13 women in a circle without men" is not really bad, but i think it’s kinda mean that women are better than men in circles.
...Oh and btw, nice picture, he looks kinda desperate
