You really do have a talent in this art world.
Honestly, I like sketching pictures too-like those you've drawn, and don't apply any colors. I just don't think a picture- a grey-white picture would look good with colors in them. You might even ruin it if you have done the wrong colors.
But you draw good, very good. Keep up your good works! My schoolbooks are also full of my picutures too. lol.

Well I have two opinions:

the way your shades are made is really good, most of the time.

the way they are used is "childish", most of the time.
If you could learn to use your shading technics somewhat more for shading and not only for colouring.
The word shades come from shadow, it is the colour behind what is on the front.
So you don’t colour shades, you build shades and then give them there colour.

Then you would be able to create more light effects and more debt levels in your drawings.
and your drawings would become even more expressive yet.

Please mind I not trying to put you down, quite the opposite.
But I think I do see a search for more expression in your drawings.

Take a llok on some paintings from rembrand, he he seems to have put hte light into the painting and not shining on it.

Take a look at some work from Esscher (like the neverending stairs or neverending waterrunbassin)
and you will see what I mean.
He did even create depts in a directions in which they are impossible in real live and still in his work they do look totaly real.

Your hands are good, your eyes are good, so use your immatination.
Elfs are from fairytales, so let your drawings be fairytales.
use your brain to understand things, but don’t stop at the logical border,
Put some feeling in them.
Even if it ruïns some drawings, you will get the grip of it finaly.
