I was reading one night (a few days before Easter), when suddenly this image of a cute little bunny wielding a scythe occured to me... thus were Aester & his story born.
After his brother has distributed the eggs on Easter, Aester travels the land, collecting the ghosts of the poor eggs that the children have enjoyed.

Yeah, okay. I'm twisted.

This is a multimedia piece - all manners of markers, pencils, and computer paint programs weighed in for Aester Grimm the reaper bunny. The background is a photo manipulation; the photo was taken by me and I have my permission to use it.

"Come after my feet, will you?!"

:-) Jessica Barnes replies: "Aw, he just wants a *little* nibble! (Or a little slice...)"

Dear Jessica Barnes: I meant the rabbit was the narrator. Superstitious people think a rabbit’s foot is lucky - although I do not know why, it was not lucky to the dead rabbit.

:-) Jessica Barnes replies: "Heh, whoops. I should pay more attention. (I’ve always kind of wondered why a rabbit’s foot ought to be lucky--considering that, as you rightly pointed out, it certainly wasn’t lucky for the dead rabbit.)"

Mind you, if you like rabbits, that is very nice! I like rabbits too, but I think there is nothing wrong with eating them. My Chinese mother-in-law makes some very tasty roast rabbit! She uses "Chinese rabbits", the kind with short ears and a long tail.

:-) Jessica Barnes replies: "I was going to ask what roast rabbit tastes like, but I imagine it tastes like roast rabbit. Or possibly chicken. 12 I’ll have to try some sometime. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a long-tailed rabbit, either... but I like the sound of it. I’ll have to search one out, whether it becomes dinner or no.

Anyway, thanks for all your comments!"
