I finally finished him! Well, sorta. I still may make some changes if I decide to (or if I get a really good suggestion), but mostly, he's done. I'm not terribly proud of the background, but it came out better than I expected, so I'm pretty happy with it. I decided not to add the scales because I couldn't find a good way to do it on the computer and not have it take a million years. Next time, I'll just draw them out. ;) I added this seperately from the last version because I'm not sure which I like better.

I like this one alot. You did a fine background; he11, at least you ATTEMPTED a background, which is more than I can say for myself..hehehe. Great coloring..I am afraid of the machina..lol!! Keep it up. *'nother first comment jig*

:-) Jacob Strandlien replies: "*laugh* I didn't understand the machina part unil just recently when I got into that particular game. 12 Thanks! Glad -someone- liked the background."

wow, great background. How d'ye do it? it really makes him seem real.

:-) Jacob Strandlien replies: "The background took a lot of work, which is why I was a bit dissappointed it didn't turn out better. The sky is a simple gradient, with airbrushed clouds that have 'burnt' bottoms to add a bit of contrast. The ground was a bit more complicated. I thickly airbrushed in several different colors for semi-dry grass, and then I took the smudge tool with a really little brush and basically scribbled all over it. Then I pasted it in back of Chadric (selecting the white area around Chaddie and using the 'paste into' tool), and I smudged a few more lines for the grass around his feet. Then I added some green ambient light on his underside and voila! Instant background. (Well, five-hour background, but who's counting?)"
