This is modeled after my friend. I turned her into an elf. She is hiding from the camera, as you can see. I am rather happy with how the clothes on this one turned out.

The colours give a nice effect, and the pose is good....although the hands are a little out of perspective....but they are always hard to do, so dont worry!

:-) Em Beslar replies: "Why thank you! Oh yes, hands are the bane of my existance. I like hands, I love my hands, I just don't like drawing them. *bad memories* rrrrr..."

Hey, looks like Legolas. He's all like: "Dammit no more pictures! Ouch, those flashbulbs hurt my delicate eyes! Geez, must get away from fangirls. I am no longer safe in these woods of Middle Earth." Maybe that's why he left...Sorry to bring Legolas into this, but its the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture. Good work. I suck at pencil...

22 Em Beslar replies: "Is this a new smily? I've never seen it before. It's kinda cute. Neehoo, you do NOT suck at pencils, you're great at form, and you make wicked gauntlets. Not your ordinary compliment...Actually, what you said is very easy to see. That does kinda look like that. Cool."

cute! reminds me of a lot of my friends... they all hate cameras!!! *sobsob* But how am i supposed to draw them if they don't like my pretty camera???

The pencilwok looks cool, but methinks you need to scan at a higher resolution or somesuch. bad scanners, eating pretty pictures....

3 Em Beslar replies: "I had no idea that you could even change the resolution! Thanks! I'll be sure to fiddle with that later. "

This makes me think of the gremlins2

"bright light!! Bright light!!"

16 Em Beslar replies: "How come EVERYONE has seen that movie exept ME??!?!?! They make it sound so good, too. *glowers* That's it. * stomps out the door to get the movie* I think I'm missing out on something rather large. But on a more cheerful note.... Thanks!! 10"

Hmmmmm. We don't like elves where I come from... But we shouldn't have prejiduce's against fellow elves and, er, evil people and orcs. **goes over to say hello. "Hello. I am from Mordor--" gets punched in the gut. "Well, I guess they still havn't forgivin us..."**

12 Em Beslar replies: "Hey, no offence, but I wouldn't, either. However, I'm not an elf. Obviously. I would tell her to be more polite, but I'm struggling with the fact that this is in fact my best friend who would hopefully never do that, but I'm not sure, so I don't know weather to be mad at the elf for punching you in the gut or shockingly taken aback. Perhaps you will be forgiven if you tell her that you never supported those barbarian acts of the orcs anyways, because you didn't, did you? O.o *scrutinize* Thanks for the comment!"

Ohoh..so swell. I like this one, think you really captured the idea of being...camera..shy...
Loverly pic!

7 Em Beslar replies: "Why thank you! I love to capture. Ideas. Capture ideas. Yes, that is what I ment."

The hands are drawn really well. ^_^ I did first think of Legolas before I read the description, but in any case, it's a good picture of an elf. I like the design on the sleeves too.

18 Em Beslar replies: "Thanks for the commment! Hm... That you at first thought it was Legolas or that you wrote 'in any case, it's a good picture' right after you said that, which one means it's a good picture?... many different points of view on that subject, that's for sure. If you get my drift. You probably don't. If I read over this comment, I don't even get my own drift. Anyhow, thanks!"

you've don a good work with the shadind, and with the dress too. the pose is nice and original, maybe she need a little more "movement", 'cause is a bit static... but i know it's hard to draw the right effect. It's a problem I have to face normally; every time I find my works really flat and "frozen" in their position. You draw better than me, maybe you can find a way out where I'm failing......nice works and style anyway, keep it up

48 Em Beslar replies: "Not sure I draw better than you at all but thanks for the compliment! As for the staticness... oddly enough, this is pretty much the exact copy of a photo I took of her. I suppose I could have added better movement with different kinds of lines and shading and texture, three things I'm not too good at, because I DO see the staticness of it and if I'd wanted it to have movement (aka if I'd been aware enough to think of wanting movement) there's stuff I should have done about it, you're right. But in all of my other pictures I see a lot of staticness as well. Movement is indeed something difficult to achieve and I haven't captured how to do it yet... Sometimes by accident but I've no idea how I did it. Thanks!"
