This is what happened when I reversed my Phoenix to its 'negative' counterpart. It appeared to be water in the sky instead of fire. A good match for my Hippocampus Bi-rhino. I just love the effect of opposing colors on a black background!

*First comment grin* Love the colours, you like negatives don't you? Personally i think you should be more positive, just a thought! *He He*

3 Maureen 'Wolffen' Wolff replies: "I am a very optomistic person by heart...LOL. But until I build my portfolio up a little bit I like to show what happens when some of my drawings are reversed. I like the effect, and it shows me what colors I use too much and what colors I need to use more of. Personally when I look at them, it points out areas that may need more shading, ot if I made something stand out better."

Cool, the colors are so bright! I love bright pics and blue is my favorite color. So this pic is simply perfect to me! ;-D

2 Maureen 'Wolffen' Wolff replies: "I am glad you like it. The actual colors are Red and Gold, this is the Negative Image of that one with the contrast boosted up a little bit. Thank you for your comment!"

I like it, my only thing is that the wings and tail should probably be longer. The wings because big birds aren't in proportion with likkle 'uns, and the tail because Phoenix's are famous for them... I know creative licence is a good thing, it's just that they're famous enough for their tails that there's a breed of Japanese chicken bred for tail length. They can grow up to six feet, handlers follow them around holding their tails. Or so I've heard. I know they have to roost up really high so their tails don't drag on the ground. Also, I don't know if you intended it, but the feather coming off under the neck makes it look like an eye.

12 Maureen 'Wolffen' Wolff replies: "I did initially intend for this drawing to be bigger, but I got a little carried away for the limited space of the 8 1/2 x 11 piece of printer paper it was drawn on. There actually are four more, papers, unfinished of course, that have an EXTREMELY long tail and feathers. I just lost the nerve to finish this one for THAT particular reason, you are the first to have keyed in on it. Congrats! I could only do SO much with on paper, so I tried a close up."
