"Blood ´n Flames" by Ruth E. Steinback

The boy doesn't have a name yet but the beginnings of his whole story (or at least the start of the exciting bit) showed up full force when I started doing my symbolic analysis assignments in Anthropology this year on the phoenix.  Kid had no idea what he was getting himself into but truly I think he only wanted to help.  Just goes to show you should have some caution before throwing new wood on an already built fire ... specifically if its the meticulously crafted pyre of the phoenix.  I have pages of margins scrawled out about the both of them.  Spent an entire class or two drawing this one.  Don't worry, I learned lots!  Phoenix' are awesome!

Poor boy.  And poor phoenix.  Neither ones' past gives them a frame for understanding for the path before them now.  What comes of mixing blood and flames?
