SciFi and Fantasy Art Dragon Face by Ruth E. Steinback


	I have found that I'm having trouble drawing anything but 'cute' dragons. I used to be able to do regal at least. I plan to work on this in the near future. I also hope to eventually maybe if I can get it onto a new sheet of paper where I have room get this guy a body. I think its the most detailed dragon I've done. What do you think?

That looks like it took you a really long time to draw all the scales and stuff. That would be really awesome if you made it a body. Ruth E. Steinback replies: "Thanks a lot! The hardest part was trying to angle the scales and size them properly. I'd love to give this guy a body but it'd take more planning than I probably have He got drawn in the bottom left corner of the page, now I'm stuck!"

This is because of the care you took to render the scales,so they wrap around him.He has a very kind face ,for a dragon. Ruth E. I also like how the scales on his nozzle fade to white which creates a nice dark and light contrast. Ruth E. Steinback replies: "Thanks! I think this was one of my first really good practices at texturing things to get a bit more depth out of it."
