Just because we focus in on beards as male things in the contempory world doesnt mean that it has to be that way everywhere.
Besides that, her posture is excelent. Your choice to have her glancing over her shoulder really adds depth to her face, which could have ended up looking flat if she wasent responding to someone. Shading, always a strong point in your artwork, realy draws the picture togather by giving real depth to her clothing. She does seem to be in alful verdent suroundings for a dwarf though, in fact, if I didentk now it was to be a dwarven woman I'm not sure that I wouldent have thought it to be a half elf.

| 13 Aug 2004 | Elijah Marquez | Loading...You sure have a great style, i never thought you could beard a female and still make look appealing. You really have great talent, im glad i could find your gallery. Hey, come check out my gallery if you want. | |
| 20 Jan 2005 | Nevermind | Loading...This gotta be my favorite from your gallery, I like it even more than your Gimli one. Can't explain why though. I really really like this one a lot.
To bad Nei ended like that on a dirty street (is it canon that she died like that?). It's tragic...
I really have to agree to Elise who posted: "in fact, I kind of avoided female dwarves in general, because the only ones I'd ever seen were either stout and barmaidish or heavily bearded"
I didn't like the barmaidish dwarves either. And I mostly see that type. And too heavily bearded just doesn't fit my image of 'em... Oh well.
*wants another pic of Nei*
| 13 Sep 2006 | Raven Jinx | Loading...I think she's beautiful. I've never seen a female dwarf before, and it's really interesting that you thought to put a beard on her. I think it makes her look better, I really do. She wouldn't look... "dwarfish" without a beard. | |
| 13 Jan 2007 | The Side Project <pronkyou2@yah...com> | Loading...I only have one complaint... She has the body of a male dwarf. The female of just about any species is sleeker, slightly more slender than the male, and often swifter as a result. She'd still likely be stocky, just not muscular, if you see what I mean. Just check the difference between male and female pin-ups and that should say something for the physical differences.
Other than that, nice use of facial features, and the pose has alot of life, too. Try doing another one of these sometime!

| 23 Jul 2009 | Vp21ct | Loading...Good sir or madame. If ever someone was to make a beard on a dwarf woman look absolutely beautiful, you have done it. This is now the general idea I shall have when I picture bearded dwarf women. | |
| 28 Jul 2009 | Matt | Loading...This is excellent! I think it’s perfect, and you are the first person I have seen that pulled off a female dwarf *with beard*! I think I looked through 3 art sites and 100s of images before I found yours. Keep up the great work with all your art. | |
