This young Dwarf, just found something while working in the mines. I've always wanted to draw a 'good-looking' Dwarf in one of those stocking-caps (like what the pirates ware). For the life of me I just coulden't draw a decent pick-axe *sigh* that's why it looks like crap.

Really good picture, but the shoes look like hooves.

The pick-axe is good, but is the hands suppose to be that big?

first of all, dragon breader, dwarves have huge hands, AND they look good. any who, the pick axe is NOT crappy, it is actually pretty nice.

If you google pick-axes, they're flatter than you'd think, across the point where the blade meets the shaft...

PickAxe Looks Great! The only thing I would recommend to add to it would be a bit of woodgrain on the handle so it doesn't appear to be steel or "fiberglass" it is just a tad modern looking.

Also, flatten out the pickaxe a bit, as was mentioned above, think of it as a bar of iron hammered flat to fit the pickaxe job, then twisted so half is a horizontal scoop and the other half is a pointy blade. In the middle of this "twist" would be the handle. Looks much less like sledge heads of modern, and more "sleek", since the band was hammered thin prior to putting on the stick.

Overall: Excellent drawing! Unique, shows a new perspective. The only other comment would be to add *slight* detail to the shoes.

The pic-axe is wonderful. And miners/artificers of any race are my faves.

1 Such joy! A Dwarf that I can possibly draw great amounts of inspiration from! You have filled my head and heart with such greatness, it’s uncanny.

Oh a lighter note, my first impression of this was that Link from the Legend of Zelda series got Dwarf-ied. So, for me, that just adds that much more wonder to the piece. Great job! And I think that pick-axe could probably do some damage in the right hands... 12
