From a woman, to her ex-husband and his new wife



/ fell as the angels fell-

not following the saleman's murmur,

not following the lover's whisper,

 not hiding myself from my father

 and hiding my shame from myself,

 not learning another's set boundaries

 and building their walls round soul.

/ fell knowing

 I was free and eternal, independent and unbounded

I followed none in falling

And led none into sin



So I was cursed as the angels were cursed-

 not with blood and death and domination.

I was cursed free and eternal

 independent and unbounded

 none following, none leading, 

  none walking beside . .

I understand the poem situation even though I don't have an exhusband but an exserious boyfriend. The last part was very interesting. I totally enjoyed reading this poem. It's beautiful.

15 Oct 2004	Mir	Loading... I love it, Lilith is so facinating as a character in the Torah. What was she thinking is she happy with her choice? Was Lilith evil as she is sometimes portrayed or is she just the first woman and human to rebel against the rule of another? I like your take on it, good job.
