You´re definitely above average just now (what is twice as true for your age, I envy you 1 ), and now I think I can describe the feeling I have of your gallery. You remind me of some of my favourite artists here at Elwood, like Silvestris or Jenny Dolfen, when they show their earlier pieces of art. Not as great as the recent ones, they surely already have the features that characterizes their artists and will make them one of the best here.

If art is your life, if you can´t spend a week without drawing or painting, you´ll become great some day. If not, if you draw only occasionally, for joy, you´ll still be pretty good, I´m sure. Thumbs up!

13 Lea K Salminen replies: "*Deep bow*You're too kind. I'm flattered2 To remind someone of Jenny Dolfen (one of my favourites here, too) and Silvestris (a new acquintance, thanks to you^^) is such an honour. If I could one day draw as well as they draw now, I'd be very, very happy. Art, my life? Well, I don't know about that. I do draw for joy as often as I have time (which is too seldom these days *sigh*). But I can't imagine not drawing for a week. *weekends are so fun*Thank you for all your comments, you have inspired me to practise more and work on my drawings2 "

Finished commenting on your update just now - and I tell you, I'm feeling very ugly and repugnant 1 Giving constructive criticism is fun, but only to some extent, and I must calm my usual nice self by claiming again that I really like your art 1 Well, you have what you wished for, or at least I hope so 1

So to summarize: I decided my favourite in this update is The Spirit of Fire, followed by Just an Elf II. The "Lost" picture reveals a great deal of ability in realism; I feel you're gaining skills to shift into higher level: balance between realism and impression, because too photo-like pictures are (by my opinion) often somewhat cold and lifeless.
By the way, you wrote to me you removed a few older pictures; I'm very glad that "My brother!" and "The Last Elf" aren't among them, because for me they are the most moving in the whole gallery.

I wish you a lot of inspiration for the next update! 1

13 Lea K Salminen replies: "Thankies^^ Constructive criticism is good, and if I get a lot of it I just need to practice more2 To shift into higher level? I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that, but hey, it sounds good1 And don't worry: "My brother!" isn't going anywhere for a long time12"

Stopping by finally. Sorry for making you wait.

I hope I won't be disappointed with my comment here (no nitpicking CC this time), but I really like your depiction of Rosie. Your fault: it gives too much positive feeling, so I don't feel in the shape for criticizing anything 1 I just cannot help but smiling 1

As for the other picture, I'm not much into this sort of things (meaning duck women with Disney-like eyes). I really like the choice of colours; it would be unfair to talk about the rest as what's bothering me about it has nothing to do with your skills, but solely with my tastes in art. We are all different, after all 1

As always I'm looking forward to your next update. I'm really happy you keep on reminding me about them. Every time something nice here for me 1
I wish you a lot of luck and inspiration for the year 2007!

13 Lea K Salminen replies: "Thanks again2 Well, I was a bit surprised about you not leaving a comment like "that's a bit wrong and that too" (because they do help), but I think I'll manage2 My, you don't like disney-ish ducks? Well, I gotta tell you: you're gonna see them, if you keep visiting my gallery12 I'm trying to make them less "Daisy Duck" -like, though, I'm not too fond of so cartoonic look. Happy new year to you too! 2"

I love your gallery! It's so great to see an artist using traditional media over programs such as Photoshop. The people in your pictures are outstanding. I see more mods choices coming your way.

13 Lea K Salminen replies: "Thank you! I kinda wish I could use photoshop, just to see what it's like2 But I trust my pencils^^"

Hi Lea,

Your work is brilliant! You have great style and create interesting pieces tainted with fun in places. It is a very enjoyable experience looking at your pictures. You also cover a variety of genres thus your gallery can be appreciated by a wide audience.

Hey, I really love your art. High school kind of does suck doesn't it? I am not in my first year anymore but I am still finding it is time consuming. You seem to have a few different styles and techniques, and I really like that.
"Chameleon artist" always have the most interesting art.
Finland? How is it like there right now? Anyways, keep drawing!

2 Lea K Salminen replies: "Thank you very much2 Chameleon artist? Cool... 1 Yeah, high school... First year over and they say the second is the toughest... Finland is a nice place to live at the moment, it's very warm and everything is green2"

You are an amazing artist! It seems like no matter how you try something, it comes out looking good! I only have one suggestion, Stop putting yourself down in your descriptions! Almost everyone I saw said something about how the picture was bad or wrong or whatever.

Remember, you have a talent that many would love to have!

13 Lea K Salminen replies: "Thanks2 As for putting myself down... You know, I can't help it. I see flaws in my art, what can you do? There's always something I'm not completely satisfied with, but I wouldn't have put the pictures here if I thought they totally sucked2 Believe me, if I some day manage to draw something what is perfect in my opinion I won't say a bad word about it. I'm not trying to get everyone to praise me for saying "oh, I don't quite like how this turned out..." and such. I'm being honest and admitting my mistakes. Thank you again for your comment!"
