Its a rare dragon fish chasing after some prey. The streamlined jaw and long sharp teeth make it excellent at catching fish (like a crocs). Despite the coarse hair along its spine, its a suprisingly strong swimmer. Adults and juviniles will often be seen launching almost the entire length of their bodies out of the water to snap at seabirds too close to the surface, or at the hands and noses of unsuspecting fishermen leaning a little too far over the boat railing. It uses bioluminescent patches near the head and at the base of the tail to lure prey up from the depths. The patches are also used as a means of communication with others of its kind.

Hey Sammie--my eyes swirl around your drawing, just as the litle fish would swirl away from the sea dragon. You are a terrific artist and your intellect and intuition are greatly evident. Do more! Mrs. C.

:-) Elizabeth Lortie replies: "Heya Mrs C! So when can I come back to paint that gazebo?? =D If only the intellect you describe could be as evident in my grades... I will do many more...just as soon as I figure out WHAT to do."

I love this pic, totally awesome.

You should do more in colour! And when you scan your pencil drawings, turn up the contrast and turn down the brightness, always makes it look better!
