Tag As FavoriteComment		This young angel once flew with many of his kind, high in the eeries of Heaven. Then, curious, he flew down to the mortals. He fell in love with the daughter of a Duke. The Duke was enraged, as were the angels. He was caught and chained to the most barren of the mountain eeries, not high enough to see Heaven except on the brightest days, not low enough to catch a glimpse of the mortal he once loved. He languishes in misery, haunted by the wind and visions of the duke's daughter, unsure of whether to regret his love.

Done in pencil, coloured pencil and watercolour.

Reminds me a bit of the story of Prometheus. Intersting that you chose to make the feet bird-like. My novel series involves a race descended from angels and seraphs, and they look much like this fellow.

While I do enjoy your style, I do see an extreme resemblance to an Angel Sanctuary picture, here. The stance, the wings, the red. Even the tattoo. If you did not recieve inspiration from the other artist, this is indeed a rare coincidence.

:-) Sam 'Zephyri' Hogg replies: "Actually, I've never heard of the picture you are referring to. The inspiration for this piece came from a series of books by Maggie Furey called the Artefacts of Power, which had a race of winged people with clawed feet who live in high eeries. So Its a coincidence. They do happen you know."
