This was the first time I had ever reworked anyone else's character (not counting written characters like arithon); the 'lovers' picture left me stunned and inspired. So I did this. It was my first foray into the world of digital painting, done with a wacom tablet and Painter Classic. I like the result, but I prefer the traditional method. You can't beat men with long blue hair.

I've long admired Silvy's pictures - what a beautiful job you've done bringing him to life - for some reason I'm really taken by the gold bands in his hair 2

13 Sam 'Zephyri' Hogg replies: "why thank you, though I see myself as inferior to Silvy's great works. The gold bands came out surprisingly well, and it probably the glint in the blue that keeps the eye darting back there. Lazuli is such a wonderful character."

I thought I'd just mention that I'm currently reworking my Pangaea website, and am currently fiddling with the updated fanart gallery. I wanted to ask you if I can upload that wonderful sketch you sent me, or if I should wait until you maybe have a colored version for me..? ^_____^
Just drop me a hint.
