Okay first off, I would like to say a massive thank you to Serinanth the owner of the original image which captured my imagination. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to come across one of the very few people who truly understand what I am getting at with my art and who share a similar view of life. You can see the original image here

His original picture of an orchid was screaming to be turned into a beast, and set a whole lot of thoughts careering round my head, most of all how deceptive appearances can be. This dragon was originally a gorgeous if slightly creepy pink flower... how threatening can that be? Yet when I've shown the painting to people most think it's weird to the point of being disturbing... which is great... *grin* So now you are thinking this dragon is all creepy and scary, would it change your mind if I said I envisioned him only being the size of a flower? heh heh heh... not so scary... but then... what if I said he was as intelligent as humans and could spit instantly lethal poison which only has to touch you to kill you. Scary again? I could go on, but this is what I mean with appearances and all. I really like this image... And for those of you who are having trouble seeing it.. his jaw is really big, and those pale green things are his glowy eyes.. the other pale things are his teeth! Watercolour, 2004

Oh, this is cool! It's not disturbing, geez! -.-() You wanna see DISTURBING, check out the blind priestess. *shudder* Not fun. I really like this, your ability to draw not only people but also beasts astounds me. Very cool! I like how he's really small, but can do a bunch of dangerous things and stuff like that! I also like the way he has a large jaw and those teeth stick out. He looks like a wise old man, only in beast form, you know? Great picture, Zephyri-chan! I have now officially commented on all 50 pieces in your gallery! Whooo-hoooo! ^-^ *throws party and no one comes* Yeah...*cough*

You've done it again, Sam. You've created a picture so incredible that it's made me speechless, and Kb can tell you, that's not an easy thing to do! Can't wait to see more, as usual!

A Dragon from a flower...quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen.

:-) Sam 'Zephyri' Hogg replies: "That's a really nice thing to say, thank you!"

Very surreal - plants as monsters, people as plants... where will it end?!?!

Anyhow, like the whole idea - had a thought myself though, it would be super clever to have it evolve, and the body becoming more plant like to act as cammo...

A bit like the 'sea dragon' seahorse... which resembles the seaweed which it inhabits - to avoid getting eaten, and to get it's food without it's food noticing it's actually there.
