I started this a few months ago and then stopped, and picked it up again just a few days ago. It has no particular meaning, just something I've had in my head for a while. I think I'll have to do it again sooner or later, because this didn't come out good enough to satisfy the idea. So anyway,

Things I like: The fairies above all. making things glow in colored pencil is beyond a pain, after using photoshop a bit you get addicted to how easy it is on a computer, and doing it by hand is just awful. I was sure they'd look terrible, but I really do like them. I also love her braid, it looks... I dunno. But her hair has reminds me of wheat, which is what I wanted. Parts of her skirt are decent, mostly near the top. And her hand is alright.

Things I hate: Gah! those sleeves! yuck! I oughtn't be allowed to draw fabric--sometimes it goes decently, but sometimes I just commit crimes against art while blundering my way through folds and wrinkles. The bottem end of her skirt is terrible, too, I want to just burn that part. And the overall lighting makes no sense. The light is coming from the window, right? not according to the shadows on her face. it's extremely inconsistent, I didn't plan it out at all.

colored pencil, as always. My prismas and I are planning to announce our engagement any day now.

this piece reminds me of the song 'Annachie Gordon' from Loreena McKennitt. It is a long song, but it's a very beautiful one, too (at least, to me it is). This girl reminds me of Jeannie waiting for her parents to bring her to church the next day, and she can't sleep. I love your work, its very pretty
