The fully colored Wood-Woman picture. This took me... only God knows how long. After hours of gibbering madly and erasing and sobbing, I managed to finish all the shading on her roots. I think I'm going to have nightmares about green and brown pencils until I'm thirty. I finished it, though my right hand will never forgive me. Ever. And the scanner hates me.

Still, drawing it was good fun, I think it turned out quite nicely, though I rather prefer the line drawing.

Beautiful work on this! But the anatomy is rather off.

Beautiful, I love the expression. I wouldn’t say the anatomy is "off" (unless you count half of her being a tree) - but perhaps her arms could be a little longer. Don’t think it matters though, it doesn’t detract from the picture. Is there a reason you decided to leave the background white?

:-) Sarah Charles replies: "Thanks! I left the background white partly because I didn’t know what to put there, and partly because I thought it would be distracting."

That’s some very nice colouring. You should do some more coloured works.

:-) Sarah Charles replies: "Thanks! I actually have a few that I need to upload, I’m just VERY picky about which ones I put on display."

This is beautiful! I love her roots, all the whispy curls and the shading...looks very elegant! Oh and I understand about the hand hehe 1 Always feels as though it’s gonna shrivel up and fall off doesn’t it? Lol...well I’m glad you didn’t give up cause you did a beautiful job!

:-) Sarah Charles replies: "Thank you so much! Hmmm... shrivel and fall off... that’s exactly it! "
