SciFi and Fantasy Art Dryad Colored by Sarah Charles

The fully colored Wood-Woman picture. This took me... only God knows how long. After hours of gibbering madly and erasing and sobbing, I managed to finish all the shading on her roots. I think I'm going to have nightmares about green and brown pencils until I'm thirty. I finished it, though my right hand will never forgive me. Ever. And the scanner hates me.

Still, drawing it was good fun, I think it turned out quite nicely, though I rather prefer the line drawing.

I wouldn’t say the anatomy is "off" (unless you count half of her being a tree) - but perhaps her arms could be a little longer. Don’t think it matters though, it doesn’t detract from the picture. Is there a reason you decided to leave the background white? Sarah Charles replies: "Thanks! I left the background white partly because I didn’t know what to put there, and partly because I thought it would be distracting."
