Tag As FavoriteComment		Being extremely unsatisfied with the results I got from using watercolors (see elsewhere in this gallery), I went back to using coloured pencils on this one, which worked out surprisingly well (although it looks better on paper than on the screen). I went for a male forest spirit this time with a concept somewhat similar to that of the fauns (sp?), the forest spirits of ancient greece in my mind. Skin and background were supposed to incorporate some of the colors you'd associate with the elements that the spirit is familiar with... red+brown for earth and wood, green for leaves and a little bit of yellow for the sun. Also, I like the mischevious look on his face. The only thing that bothers me is that his horns look like they were glued to his head, rather then grew from it. Oh well. Comments, anybody?!

This is very cool. His head sort of makes him look like an alien. (the greenish colors seem to do that as well) I love the neck musculature, and his intense expression. Guess fauns weren't always happy-go-lucky.
