Eva N. Schiffer

Eva is a computer scientist who likes to pretend she's an artist.

I'm a computer scientist with an inherant drive to create that spills over into art as well as programs.

The art that I have in here is mostly very, very old. I have put up a few newer pieces and cleaned out some of the older ones. I've been trying my hand at various other media lately, but most of my projects aren't appropriate for Elfwood.

Wow, lotsa rainbows! Rainbows are good; rainbows are very good. I love the blending of the colours you've done here (someone mentioned it above, but I'm gonna do it again!) Very nice gallery.

I think that you should attempt to put more quality into your pictures (like some of the doodles from your computer science notes) because from what I saw in that one picture, you drawing anime people is not showing your true talent. You seem to do very well drawing dragons and the such, but people are not your forte. And water colors are meant to be watery. But you still have a beautiful use of colorage. I just thought I'd tell you this all so that you could possibly reach your full potential because I can see that you are a great artist, taking the wrong path. *nodnod* but pretty colors....

17 Eva N. Schiffer replies: "  Hello Amber Ackley,I appreciate you trying to "set me straight" but hon, you may want to think about the message you are sending. First off, left handed complements are not nice, nor do people respond well to them. Second, how can any artist take the "wrong path"? If I'm creating and I'm happy, isn't that the right place to be? I have been moving twords a more photo realistic style but anime will always remain a very strong influence on my work. I'm sorry you don't like some of my pictures but I wish you luck in your own artistic growth. Don't let people tell you anything you do is the "wrong path" if it feels right."

*a heavy fog rolls into the glade and from it steps a dark stranger, who hands you an unmarked scroll case containing blank tissue paper* "Your eye for color is great, yet your work lacks good anatomy. Use the paper to draw figures from magazines or whatnot. It will teach you anatomy better than anything else."*The stranger steps back into the fog and is carried away with it*

Hi Eva!!! Such drama from the last commentor, tsk, alas, no shadowy spells and magical paper to pass on here.. *Grins* Art is not always about what others feel is correct, or incorrect, that's just personal(or borrowed) opinion, a reaction to the Art, (or the artist) itself. I look at the Sidhe work, and am vastly impressed, nice form and color strokes. Its stylistic, and well rendered. All your color works are fun, and some, like the delicate watercolor with the ribbony effects, are wonderful, portraying good spirits. If an artist is on their path, there is no right or wrong about it. Its indivdual, and personal. You keep steppin, and expressing...
