| 15 Aug 2002 | Doji Neriko | Loading...:::grins::: I know who this guy is. He's one of the Ide brothers, the one Shosuro Kimi was going to marry in the L5R City of LIes boxed set. Yeah, I'd imagined he'd be thoroughly...annoyed. Don't you just love the machinations of wanna-be Kolats? Wonderful job! Sean C. Riley replies: "How right you are, Neriko. But I shall say no more, lest I ruin "City of Lies" for some hapless L5R player. Incidentally, City of Lies is probably the best setting supplement for an RPG I have ever seen. Absolutely superb. Now if only they'd done Otosan-Uchi the same way (grumble, grumble)." | |
| 22 Oct 2002 | Bayushi Hanzo <BayushiHanzo@aol.. | Loading...This is exactly how I'd have pictured Michikane had he returned for vengeance. And who really can blame him? I am so impressed, as an L5R player/fan, at how well you convey the true spirit of the samurai. | |
| 30 Oct 2002 | Uthegental | Loading...Cool pic, but his swords seem to be much too small, looking like daggers instead of Katana and Wakizashi... | |
| 17 Nov 2002 | Nikkicub | Loading...Beautifully done. I love the fans!! Fans-as-weapons is something that really appeals to me.
As for the swords: EVERYBODY SHUT UP! The first curved swords used in Japan were worn blade down. They're called tachi. He can have the swords down in peace mode, or he can have a tachi, which became a status symbol once the katana replaced it. So nyah. Leave the man alone or learn to do better. He can draw the darn swords as he pleases, even without historical/symbolic background.
Great job, Mr. Riley. ^_^ This is my favorite so far in your most impressive gallery. | |

| 22 Feb 2003 | AlicE Grav3s | Loading...Well, before I begin a tad of a rant, I would say that I love this picture, but not your discription. The Crow was Not a rip-off of anything. The comic that the movie was based from was written in the '80s. So please, have correct information before you make ridiculous claims-@L! 6R@\/35 Sean C. Riley replies: "Okay...gotta try to keep my cool......nope, can't. What a moron. I'm assuming based on your super-cool 1337 signature that you're somewhat familiar with netiquette...in which it is generally accepted that a smiley " " indicates a joke or sarcasm. Note the smiley after my "rip-off" comment. I should think it was fairly obvious that I wasn't claiming that the movie industry climbed into my brain and stole my idea.I'm more than familiar with the origins of the The Crow, having read the comics years ago. I'm sorry that I offended your fangirl sensibilities by daring to even joke about it. But it was just that...a joke. To quote, "So please, have correct information before you make ridiculous claims"" | |
| 7 Oct 2003 | Your Irish brethren | Loading...Dazzling drawing, but I'm even more impressed by the preceding paragraph. You but things so well, look into literature in the future. | |
| 8 Nov 2005 | Paul | Loading...What makes me love the picture even more is the cool comments you make at the people who try put the pic down lol heheh. Sean C. Riley replies: "I am here to entertain. But seriously, let me make clear that I don't have a problem with people putting my work down. More specifically, I don't have a problem with people who include constructive criticism in their comments. So, I guess I do actually have a problem with people putting my work down, because that implies that they're simply trying to take a jab without adding anything constructive. As for AlicE Grav3s' comments above...well...I just couldn't help it. I mean, she was more ignorant than insulting, but a guy can only bite his tongue so much. I'd better get back to my anger management meeting... <--- (Note the smiley...that means I'm joking, AlicE. Just FYI.)" | |
| 9 Mar 2006 | Isawa Nazomitsu | Loading...Bah! Forget all those people with their silly sword details and comments about movies about vengeful ghosts. The mistake you should really be concerned about is why a member of the Ide family is wearing a Phoenix Clan hat. We invented that style, you know. We'll sue! | |
| 12 Aug 2006 | Anonymous | Loading...you know... concerning the swords the WERE often worn edge-down. since wearing them with the edge up prevents the natural drawing move. In war it would be insulting to your opponent to carry your swords in the "everyday position" that the edge-up style was.
To me the edge-down represents his torment and that he will fight whoever trise to stop him. No everyday stance for this guy...
and the pic rocks | |
