This is gorgeous. Everything from the facial expressions to the different mood each character gives. HOWEVER to be accurate, the sheathed blades should be bending the other direction cause the blade is up when resting in it's scabbard.

The woman is great. I think it would be a wonderful idea to draw an individual portrait of her. She just seems so interesting all by herself. The same idea would actually work with any of them, they are all so well drawn.

Not to perpetuate the reality aspect that you cautioned against, but actually, your blade angles are fine. The Japanese were not the only ones to make swords. Specifically, the Koreans were fond of the edge towards the ground. Even in L5R, they take that into consideration because if not the Kakita duelists would have a hard time with the single strike from the sheath-ed position. I know you don't want to hear about "realism" but I just thought you should know that technically, you're right, fantasy aside.

I can easily see this as the cover art for a novel or RPG supplement. The more I look at it the more I want to know about these characters and their adventures as they carry out their duties. It's a great picture!

Nice one. Scorps make the most interesting chars in L5R. And i really like their design.
