Sandra Dukino

Sandra is a girl who is blown away by Jim Hensons creature shop. In his example she's making 3D fantasy works of art.

A quick introduction. I was born 27-11-1976. I'm really into fantasy, especialy 3D stuff. I have a twin sister and you can check her fantasy art out in gallery 93. I really love all the work of 'the Jim Hensons creature shop'. He inspired me to start making 3D fantasy a couple of years ago. I hope you like it! Please respont and I'm not afraid of a little constuctive critism.

I'm getting e-mails regularly from people asking me how I make my creatures. It has taken me several years to get where I am. It's not that I don't want to share my knowledge... it's just that the question; 'How did you make your figures?'..asks for a way to large and elaborate answer to cover in an e-mail. It would take a whole book to note down all I've experienced, and all figures have their own problems and techniques. It would be undoable to cover everything that could occur while working on a figure. I have put some information about how I did a specific figure on some of the descriptions that go with the pictures in my gallery, or as answer to some peoples questions in the feedbacks below it. So maybe your question might just be answered already. I've started myself looking up some basic techniques to get started in the great amount of books readily available about the subject. I would suggest everyone to do the same and start there. When you get the basics and make them your own, cast away the book and start developing your own style and prefered way of working. What might work well for one person might not work for another as well. When you get to this point and get stuck... you are welcome to ask me questions and I will try my best to help you if I can. The more specified the question and problem the more likely I am able to help you.

I was wandering around the woods, and stopped here. Your work is amazing! The way you do the clothing and shape the heads is really unique. Keep it up!

You are amazingly talented! Your creatures are brilliant, how do you make the bodies under the clothes, are they clay or something else? I have no experience of sculpting so my question might sound stupid but does fimo clay need baking? Again your art is fantastic, well done!

I started commenting on some of your sculptures...but they are all so great and have these wonderful expression on their faces... So I decided to just comment here. I like them all!!
I think my favorite is winter mother...or the one I commented on having a very cute face.
I loved them!

WOW your gallery is absolutely stunning.
I absolutely love 3D art, but unfortunately my talent resides solely in the 2D world, and even there it's not very extensive so works like your's leave in complete awe
keep up the good work

Hello Sandra Dukino

Doing a search of the name Dukino, cause my grandmother’s familyname is Dukino we found you. Normally we found them in Europe and some in sydney Australia. All the Dukino’s known to us in the Sydney region and is really family in the first degree. We wonder how your or your family came to Australia. There was a trace done on the name Dukino and we came to year 1626 on the Swiss-Italian border. Did you or your family went from Europe and maybe just like my family, from The Netherlands to Australia. At this moment my family from Australia is staying here (Netherlands) for a holiday and it would be great to have a respond from you.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Friendly regards
