Looking at the vast endless night sky, the sun had vanished, with the billions of eternal lights making the sky seem alive. Sighing heavily he turned his back on the sky and faced towards the rugged path that this place had

These paths had developed throughout the places life. The breath of the wind whispering its quiet sigh of hope and joy at life into his ear. The wonderful feeling of being alone walking the endless path of immortality and never understanding.

He looked ahead not knowing what to expect but that’s what made the journey all worth while. The sudden twists and turns of unexpected encounters and of not knowing what lay down this meandering road. He could look back but he knew that he had already travelled that path and once traversed it closed itself to him forever. The road ahead was all he needed. Turning back would open unwanted wounds of the soul and heart. The unbearable pain that no one should have to endure but he believed that by living with this it allowed him knowledge of his life and dreams that he still hasn’t grasped yet. He never understood how people, even the most important, could know what love is. Out of this entire world and all the others he has crossed this one thing he saw every single place he had been. This was the only thing he could not grasp in his head, soul or heart. Why was he the only one who didn’t know what this thing was? Was he just oblivious or was he ignoring what might have already been there?

He always looked preoccupied by something on his mind. He wore a complicated expression which could have expressed any emotion. He could be feeling anything but his face, his mask, hid it from everyone. He had wandered so many roads, flown in all types of contraptions, flowed across many seas, and ridden many beasts and for what?

He still travelled not knowing if he was staying or leaving, had he been here already or had he simply forgotten?

Was this it? An endless many choices but no definite answer to any of them.

The sun shone blinding him. A smile crossed his face as he turned to face the rising sun and the turning of the day. Another one had come and gone. A new sun rising, another road to choose, listening to the silence of the morning. The wind silenced itself as he laughed out loud to himself. He had never been this philosophical before and the thoughts running through his head were amazing thoughts of unfulfilled promises and dark lonely roads already walked down without knowledge of having done it.

When he closed his eyes he could just here the earths sigh as she turned around to face the moon and to face the sun. Sometimes he hummed when he walked just to pass the time.

Interesting...I especially like the second to last paragraph about the winding road of thought and how it is. This is one side of immortality some don’t think of as much as the physical side of it, I’ve noticed...(and *first comment dance* 1 7)
