I told you I'd upload another picture with Amaya, and lo and behold, I did. This was drawn as a valentine for my boyfriend. These are our characters on the mud. Though they hooked up before we did and therefore their relationship does not quite mirror ours, it's kind of developed into a representational thing. Now that I've gotten a picture of Amaya to turn out, I think I might try again.
Costume designs by my friend/fellow-artist lea (I feel special to call her friend, she's so nice AND an amazing artist). Phantom, the man, is an albino half-elf. Amaya is a half-elven bard, and supposed to be stunningly beautiful. She's not normally quite so dark-skinned ... the scarf they're holding is significant. There's a lot of story behind these two. A LOT. It's quite epic and I will hopefully illustrate scenes from it in future.
Painstaking sketch, painstaking ink, and several hours' work in Photoshop coloring the scan. I'm going to be using this technique more often.

Very sweet! I love how you have her ankles crossed. That's a lot harder to do than it looks.

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Yay, someone commented on this picture. It's currently one of my favorites. ... hmm, for the ankles, I actually used a Volks doll body (easy to pose) to get the rough idea, then fleshed it out and added boots. It helps having some kind of a model, as I don't have anatomy quite down yet..."

This is such a beautiful picture, it looks like the two people are kinda shearing a tender moment1 I like it.

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "I'm very glad you like it! It's supposed to be sweet and romantic, but the pose was really hard, and the coloring ... I'm glad people like the end result."

AWW!!! I LOVE this picture!! It shows so much love and emotion. I love the postion that they're sitting in! And the guy is soo adorable! He looks really sweet ^^ and the woman is pretty too ^_^ VERY NICE JOB!

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Mmm, I really like the guy too - I kind of modeled him after my boyfriend a little (he's my boyfriend's character) and since I think HE's cute ... but yes, since this picture was a valentine, there was real feeling put into it that I wanted to convey. I'm glad it comes through!"

It's sweet! I like how they're holding the ends of the rope making the heart! It's neat!

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "It's actually a scarf, not a rope, but I didn't do the texture right (or those little dangly bits at the ends) ... it's a present that the girl gave the guy to kind of symbolize the fact that they will be there for each other."

ooh! that’s so sweet! they really look like they’re in love...’Phantom’ is kinda hot...

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "-I- think he’s attractive, but he’s also partly based on my boyfriend (who roleplayed him) so that might be why! Glad you like the picture."
