| 4 Jan 2004 | Mousykins | Loading...Well I LOVE the background. It shows so much detail. I like the grass. And I like the squirrel too! *cuddles the squirrel* Poor lad, he looks very battered around, but if he's bleeding that much wouldn't he be writhing around on the floor dying? Lol, it's your drawing, I'm not going to put anything negative on it because it's really good. Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Thanks ... the grass took forever ^_^ I'm really bad with details, and usually don't even try, so it's really rewarding to have the extra effort pay off in a very nice comment from a visitor. Thanks so much! As for his blood loss ... well, he's in very, very rough shape, and in the story he passes out from blood loss at one point, but the squirrels try to help take care of him. I know, squirrels. I'm insane. It's serious, I swear. But anyway, I'm no doctor, so you may very well be right - I know head wounds bleed a lot, and I think the blood on his side is enough, especially since it's mostly a large spot of dried blood. I guess the continual blood loss from his feet might be a problem, and I don't even know if bloody footprints are possible (if they are, they're probably a lot less noticeable than this). Let's call it artistic license. All that green needs a little red to balance it out! And I'm just plain cruel to this little guy." | |
| 17 Mar 2004 | Heather SpiritChild Le Blanc | Loading...I really love your background... With the light shinning into the depths of it. The details are great. Amazing work Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "I've still got a long way to work with backgrounds, but I'm glad you liked it! Thank you!" | |
| 29 Apr 2004 | Dunno person.. | Loading...artistic flavour..trees in the best shade of brown mixture I've seen!Impressed.. is this child lost in a beatiful forest? Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Yes, he's rather lost and it's a rather thick forest (or supposed to be). It was originally supposed to be a forest in autumn but that requires skill beyond my meager abilities." | |
| 7 May 2004 | Jenny 'Dumpysaurus' Barnes | Loading...That background makes me go O_O, and that's a good thing! The atmosphere really comes across. Now I really REALLY wanna read your novel! I need to know what happens to this guy.... Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "I'm in the process of rewriting the novel ... perhaps someday it'll be published (though I am looking for people who would be willing to read the second draft and give input) ... the background took forever, and I'm glad it gives atmosphere, even though I'm such a dummy that I drew the wrong season.!" | |
| 1 May 2005 | Alvarez | Loading...I think U should go to real forest...where are leaves on ground, and so one....In woods are not too much grass...hmmm it looks like a grass which trees glued on it...really, I'm sorry, but I do not like it....3/5 <-- because of squire Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Ah, yes, I know real forests have lots of leaves. They also have lots of dirt, and rocks, and squirrels. (or maybe not so much the squirrels). Unfortunately, that would require a better artist than I am. Or at least than I was when I made this picture. I kind of copped out on that part of the background, because the background was still a lot more detailed than I usually do. Baby steps, baby steps. Maybe I'll try to do a more accurate forest picture in the future." | |

| 10 Jun 2006 | Random person | Loading...do you have an obsession with squirrels? Background is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy better that any one I could ever do. don't downgrade yourself. you are good at drawing. Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Yes, in fact, I do love squirrels! This story had lots of squirrels in it. I used to want to have a talking squirrel when I was a little girl, so I guess that's why. And thank you for the compliments. I know this picture has many flaws, and I'm frustrated because I can see them, but I appreciate that people can enjoy it anyway." | |
