So I ran a game set in the world of my novel, with two players (my friend Jen, and my boyfriend Jeff). This is Jeff's character. This is an earth ten'gai ... so in a way he is related to Ca'rer, the little boy in this gallery, but I don't really want to spoil too much about the story. Think of him as an earth elemental person. In this, the forest he has lived in and the village he has taken care of as a protective 'forest spirit' have both been burned to the ground, and several of his pet humans were killed trying to protect their home. He knows that the village was destroyed because zealots were trying to get to him, and that the villagers were dying for him ... so he is filled with grief, guilt, and a little rage against the men who have cruelly harmed innocents. An oekaki doodled a little while ago. I'm so bad with oekaki.

Also, I lvoe the effect on it! Of the fire, that is well done!! Pet humans? You know, I wouldn't be too surprised if we were pets.

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Well, by "pet humans" I just meant that he was particularly fond of them. But yes, it's really sad that things like this can really happen. Even in a fantasy world, even in a real world, tragedies happen all around. But I like to think about the people who come together and help each other through tragedy."

aww!! That is so... sad!! I feel... sad. And angry. I can't believe that some people would do that!!

ok, actually, i can believe that, but it is so sad that in real life, such s could happen. and worse... *shiver.* sept. 11../

Emotion is so well conveyed in this piece...the droop of his hair, the defeated turn of the mouth...and the falling leaves. Very, very nice. Good contrasting colors on the cloak...there's that color theory put to work in a way I can never manage. "Doodle." Pff. ;-)

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Just replying to this because I've recently had some trouble with "color theory" - don't understand the technicalities of it ... I just play around, sometimes hit, sometimes miss. This really is a doodle, but computer doodles are hard and take a long time..."

::Jealous:: Wow that's really good! there's alot emotion in this piece. you must have a good grasp on computer art...all i can make is a happy face.

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "I love emotion in artwork, but I wouldn't say I have a good grasp on computer art yet, especially with the doodle programs I used on this one... thanks anyway, though. ^_^"

I love the colours in this, and the emotion is tangible. He looks so sad.

I love the colors. o-o

:-) Lauren 'Selie' Liebowitz replies: "Thank you! It was difficult to get them to work in the program I was using, but I’m glad you like them."
