This is technically incomplete as the final product will be a flash animation complete with music and sound effects but that can't be posted on Elfwood so this will have to do. It's taken about 2 months to get this much done. It's almost all the animation, there will be a few things done in flash mainly because it's easier to get objects to track curved paths.
So a while back one of my friends (who is very much a Brony- he plays Pony DnD) suggested an old school Final Fantasy/ My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic crossover. I though 'that sounds like fun, what the hell, I'll make it an animation'. It kind of grew...a lot.
DISCORD:
The villan of the opening of Season 2 of MLP. His attack pattern and dificulty is inspired by Shinryu and Omega, the super bosses from FFV. This is why he is so vicious. The ponies could stand a chance, if they acted in harmony. Chaos Shift is based on Barrier Change but instead of shifting his weakness casts a random attack. His Utter Chaos move has some of the random stuff he inflicts on Ponyvile in the second episode.
TWILIGHT:
The somewhat over powered black mage/scholar of the group. Study is an actuall comand from FFIII & IV.
RAINBOW DASH:
The lancer. Sonic Raindboom is based on a Geomancer attack which does percentage based damage. It's not supposed to work on bosses
APPLE JACK:
Monk with a little bit of tamer thrown in.
RARITY:
White mage. The gem command is inspired by Eiko from FFIX whose summons can be altered by equiping different gemstones. The holy animation is incomplete, it's one of the ones that will be extended using flash.
PINKIE PIE:
The random job class that is either completely useless or very specific in its use. All her abiliteis are random so she's not an easy one to use.
FLUTTERSHY:
The summoner cross bard/ hunter. The hunter class in FFV can call forest animals for aid which is fitting for fluttershy. Angel is Fluttershy's pet rabbit who is being nice here in givng the party buffs. The Bahamut is FFV's version. Fluttershy can kick ass. Several of the FF bards can hide like Fluttershy.
The battle system is turnbased rather than ATB based for ease of animation. Commands are primarily inspired by Final Fantasy V, my favourite of the pre FFVII games. All sprites and animations are 100% done by me.
All animated in Photoshop Elements. Time taken....gak...many hours.
