Kinda reminds me of Falwks (Prof. Dumbledore's pheonix) Stav Ofer aka 'Silmarien' replies: "Wow, it's really flattering to hear that it made you want to cry. thank you!"

Was taht effect intended? Stav Ofer aka 'Silmarien' replies: "thank you! the background wasn't planned - I was experimenting with "wet in wet approach" and I knew what kind of things I should expect to, but I didn't know exactly what it would look like or whether I'm going to like it or not."

Stav Ofer aka 'Silmarien' replies: "thank you very much! the technique is quite simple: basically you first wet the paper with clean water and then paint on it while it's still wet."

If I might make a suggestion though, I think this would look even better if the edges between the white and blue was sharper (to match the clean lines of the rest of the pic)... you could probably do this with a computer art program. But even without that, it is a lovely picture ^_^ Stav Ofer aka 'Silmarien' replies: "actually my idea was that the "fuzzy" background would make the bird stand out more. hmmm... I'll have to think about it. thank you for the suggestion!"
