This was a lot of fun to do! Most of the angel is a collage of some very nice papers, but the wings I made out of fine metal foil, embossed with a ball-point and painted with enamel paints (mostly nail polish).

I always admire when people do collages and mosaics like this. It must be very difficult. So great job on this!

:-) Kate "Silverfish" Jennings replies: "It was tricky, but fun. However while I was 'painting' the metal for the wings, a friend came in and closed all the windows because it was winter and she wanted to read to me without freezing, and the room filled up with nail-polish fumes. When we finally opened the doors, we couldn't smell anything, but the rest of college could! Apart from the possibility of brain damage, the difficult part is keeping pieces from blowing away before you glue them down."

*stares* This is simply amazing. I can think of no other words to describe... it has struck me speechless...

This is very lovely! so intricate. I tend to make collages all gluey, and tehn i dont like them, but you have done this wonderfully! I love the positioning of the hair!

:-) Kate "Silverfish" Jennings replies: "The trick is to use the right glue! I use a lot of glue-stick and a little bit of clear craft glue - strong and stringy but not as messy as pva."

Hey! I love this picture! I used to collage a bit myself but I think they might be a little bit too naive for Elfwood!

This image is beautiful! It looks like a christmas card or something! I would be really happy to get it in the mail!! 2

:-) Kate "Silverfish" Jennings replies: "High flattery! I tend to make my own cards now, using similar techniques (especially the enamelled shim). What's naive but a style? If they're good collages, try putting them up - this isn't exactly rich on detail."

Wow, this is really fantastic! I love paper cut out art, its one of my favorite mediums. I think this is one of the most original pieces ive seen in the woods. Keep up the goodness 2

:-) Kate "Silverfish" Jennings replies: "Thankyou! I have a couple other pieces finished/in progress and I'll try to get them up when my thesis is finished!"

This is excelent. You dont see alot of alternitive mediums in the woods or the libray, and it's nice to see some every once in a while. Very cool, like what x-mas cards would look like if the people making them cared.

:-) Kate "Silverfish" Jennings replies: "Alright, I give in! Actually, I was going to make up some Christmas cards from another picture last year, but ran out of time and into difficulties. Maybe this year I'll look into having this picture printed up. Glad you like it."

Oh, that's lovely. It looks like jewelry, really, or the cover of a very important book.

wow! Great collage! I like the nail polish effect on the wings. Very shiny and pretty, like something off a profesional Christmas card.

This is a very original idea that becomes a beautiful pic!
