I know exactly what you mean by the "chickening out" bit. I don't get into detail as much as you on pen pictures, but do a lot of pencil sketching before inking just to save from messing it up by a wrong pen stroke. In regards to your picture, it's wonderful! You've caught the light reflections wonderfully. I like the poses, too.

I am probably more impressed by good ink sketches than I am by any other medium; it looks wonderful when it is done well but can look dreadful if it isn't. This looks wonderful. I like the depth of the picture and it is an enticing composition.
