All right, time for a new summary up here. Yay me?
So...As Kristina so nicely summed up, evil is the ruling power in this world, and the good are struggling to carry on. The fallen stars and other despondent imageries (<

There are no stars in the winter sky,

Where dreamers dream and shadows lie,

Where hopes come alive and truths die,

In the darkness of eternal night.

In the wake of tempered dusk,

All bodies turn to shallow husks,

Scented air with faint rose musk,

And then the souls take flight.

            Ethereal sky above,

Brightened with a light of love,

But no stars, nor hawk or dove,

In the line of the mage’s sight.

In the heart, there are the dreams,

Nothing real is as it seems,

Light and dark on similar teams,

In tempest’s time of night.

Mortal bounds are reminded at night’s darkest hour,

Life fades as petals from a wilting flower,

There are no stars to guide or give you you power,

In the absence of mortal light.

            Dawn breaches night’s dark frame,

Dreams within the heart are tamed,

Ignited instead a mortal flame,

And so ends the once-eternal night.

Well, the Muffin Queen awes her subjects with another incredibly deep poem. Wow, when it all comes down to it, being insane (or whatever your therapy was for) has really helped when you wanted a nice good old deppresing deep poem! Keep up the good work!  Well, I'm not insane so much as addled.
Thank ya, thank ya verrry much!

Sublime, my Queen. Sublime, charming.

I had no idea my humble self served such poetic genious.

The only thing let for me to do is scoff at the mods for not giving you a mod's.... *IDEA!* Ooooh... Clever, clever Cookie...

11 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "I love scoffing!
To quote a poet-acquaintance of mine, you're heaping obscene amounts of praise on me. Interesting.
Thanks for your comments, Cookie! They make me happy!!"

Very interesting. I must say that I really liked your rhyme scheme on this one.. I've never thought of doing it that. I meanwhile am still trying to conquer the abab rhyme scheme..

9 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "Rhyming is the tool of the devil. What you see here is the result of long hours of beating my brain until the rhymes leaked out."

"Life fades as petals from a wilting flower,

There are no stars to guide or give you power,"

Exquisite(Did I spell that right?)Oh well, I love the entire poem, but those two lines I quoted gave me chills. *Bows down to you* =)

13 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "I think that verse is my favorite, glad it struck you.
Thank you so much! *a muffin for Evie*"

*Shivers with delight* oh how delightful! what elegance and rythm! very few poems give me goosebumps on my neck!

Do you have a poem on the river or the seas?
I adore the waters!

44 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "I love the smell of water...I have a few rain and ocean scented candles scattered in my room...
Hmm...I do have two poems that use ocean imagery, sort of. Not very good, but I'll email them to you.
So glad you like this one, also. It's one of my very oldest, it boggles the mind. I wrote it three years ago now, I think."

I am enchanted by your poem(especially because winter is my favourite season)12!It is really good and I think you have mixed the season that we have seen and the imaginary scene of some other world during the same season.

18 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "I could write about winter forever. And there definitely is a sense of other-worldliness here. Thanks so much for the comment!"

It has suddenly struck me what it is about this poem that has left all who read it, including, of course, myself, feel such awe and reverence. I don't know what exactly about the poem brings it about, but it like... it rings true. It sounds in some way the same as all the great poets. It sounds like Frost, it resounds like Poe, it beats like Blake, and it reaches depths like Carroll. In short, I have come into possession of a book with one poem of each of these great people, but beyond that it's pages are blank. Obviously, I don't want to diminish this book (it is very treasured to me) by adding anything that is on a lower level than they. I think this poem would do this treasure justice.

6 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "I quite honestly don't know what to say to that, except thank you. I can't even begin to explain how crazy you are...Frost and Blake, that's unreachable.
It's true, though, that this poem seems to touch people. Nobody knows what it is...an unspeakable allure? (I came so close to a Firefly reference I almost exploded)
Thanks so much, me bucko!"

Very deep stuff... I never did like the winter.
Hey... I was wondering if I could use this for my final history project. We need 10 songs and 10 poems and I have found no poems, and this seems like an awesome first. I swear I will give you credit... cuz if I don't I lose major points.

1 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "As long as you credit me, that's totally fine! I don't know what the specifics of your project are, but I recommend Christina Rossetti for another poem; her poetry is beautiful."

This is nice stuff.

I love poetry where people compare dark and light.

Can I add it to my Bebo blog? Please?
I swear you'll get credit.

6 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "Aw, shucks, glad you like it.
As long as proper credit is given, I guess it's all right. (That would be (c) Simi Landau 2004)
Could you provide me a link to this blog so I could see?"

Awesome poem! I like how you described the winter’s night. Rhyme scheme reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe’s "The Raven" a little bit. I guess that’s just me, though.

13 Simi Landau *Muffin Queen* replies: "Glad you like it! This one is...oh gosh, about six years old! And it’s still a big hit. 2
Definitely not as crazily rhymed as "The Raven," it doesn’t have internal rhyming for one...but I swoon at the thought! Thank you so much, m’dear!"
