...bit of a mouth-full, your name, but strangely stress-relieving when said aloud...
I enjoyed reading Fallen Star (though the Fantasy genre has, frankly, only gone downhill since Tolkien...) All matters of content aside, my only suggestion there is that you seperate paragraphs according to speaker. (ie. if 'the girl' says something, and Taras replies, we don't find out that it's Taras replying until we reach the end of the sentence - it can be confusing midsentence, to think that she is replying to herself! By making a new paragraph every time a new character speaks, it helps alleviate the confusion.)
