From Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat, Lestat meets Akasha and Enkil, the Mother and Father of the vampires. Lestat really seems to hit it off with Akasha and she silently tells him her name as he kisses her. She is in vampire sleep, so she appears like a statue and is frozen in place.

I coloured this for Kerry Dale's birthday, which for the record is April 4.

Pen and ink (yes her braids were inked by hand, and it took forever) coloured in Photoshop.

Ack. More stunning detail in the name of braids. And you've really captured the beauty of Lestat's character yet again! Great stuff as usual Joanna!

1 J. Oliver replies: "  These braids were tighter and more numerous than in the other pic. Drove me nuts! Yesss more Lestat... but he's fun! Glad you like it! Thank you!"

Wow, you captured them perfectly! I love how you did both the hair of Lestat and Akasha. Beautiful work. Keep it up!

Oooh, and I've just read this scene - so I can safely say that you've done a great job with her stillness and lack of real expression. It's beautiful. =D

18 J. Oliver replies: "That scene is so super-sexy! I just loved it! I'm glad you like my version of it. Thanks! "

Wow... This is amazing! I was looking at it and admiring her hair, and then I read at the top that you colored it BY HAND!!! I would have died.... Great job!

Oh, that’s why she looks in front of her and not at Lestat! I wondered about that before I read your comments, sorry... Anyway, its’ nice! And I can’t believe you had the patience to make and color the braids!! I wouldn’t have dared. Keep up the good job!!! 1
