Gosh, I was -sure- I had already uploaded this picture before 0_o Maybe I have? I'm just becoming more and more demented for each passing day, it seems =P

Well, anyway! ...This is a portrait of a roleplay character I played for a while online on Never Winter Nights, a game set in the Forgotten Realms-...place, in a landscape called 'The Silver Marches' ^-^ ..She's a melancholic, alcoholic, poetic, cynical, strange, half-elven bardess, who after being rejected by her object of love in quite a booring way, came up with a tragic story for herself and left her home city. In this picture she's holding her leatherbound book, where she scribbles down all her little poems and stuff. And on her back she has her lovely lute ^-^

The tale she conjured up went something like this: She fell in love with a nobleman, who rejected her, and sent people after her to kill her, incase someone thought the nobleman had mingled with a guttersnipe like her. He'd restore his honour, if she disappeared. Thus, she had to get far away - This story she told people in taverns and on the street, and ended by begging the people to give her money, so she could continue staying in hiding. Clever girl ^-^

Ah, and I'd like to send a big THANK YOU to my friend Anna (http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/h/u/huittinen/huittinen.html), who was kind enough to let me use a picture of her as reference for the pose (not the face or clothes or anything, just the pose, which actually was the inspiration for the whole picture =^^=). So yah, thank you Annannanan! =D

Medium: Watercolours, and watercolour feltpen for the black sky. When I then used some white all-covering stuff to make the stars, it turned slightly yellow-greenish in some places, which might be visiable. Maaaybe. Or maybe not.

Another wonderful piece of art made by you! Oh!I forgot!
*the first comment dance!* I like the pictures colors. Dark clothes and dark sky and the light blue mountains that makes a very good needed contrast for the picture. It would perhaps have been to dark without the light blue. And I´m always impressed of the way you got the hair to look so shiny and wonderful... It looks easy but I can´t do that.. Great pic annannan! (good pose by the way 1)

3 Anna Skult replies: "Annan: Awwwr, such a wonderful and long comment! Thank you very much for all of your compliments ^-^ ...And I'm sure you're gonna get a hang of the shiney-hair-business in no time =P Thanks again for commenting, Annananan! /hugs"

Oh nooo..! Anna got the first comment dance! 16 2
I'm not that good writing comments (in English.. iih 16) about your wonderful pictures, not like Anna, but I'm gonna try anyway 10 Anna (this may be a bit confusing for the other readers 10), this is a WONDERFUL piece! She is so beautiful with the deep eyes and her shiny hair and the shadow, specially on the thing around her head (I don't actually know what it's called in English 10) is just perfect. The colours makes it so dramatic, the dark night sky and clothes, the blue mountains and her pale skin-tone. Annaaa...! Whyyy are you drawing such good pictures?! >:/ You should illustrate fantasy-books, really 2 I'm so angry at you right now, I'm sorry, can't help it 10 But I love you anyway, just a little tiny, tiny bit 1

21 Anna Skult replies: "*puts a hand infront of her mouth, and goes... "hihihihi!"* =^_^= I'm glad you like this picture, and I love your comment! It's great you think I managed to create at least some sort of atmosphere, and that you like the shading, which was a first-time-test for me concerning that type of shading-style. I'm really happy with it, really.. =) Anyway, thanks for commenting! /luv and hugs"

Awesome! This has a some sort of aura of mysteriousity or something... The shading looks just neat, let alone the hair!

...... BAH! Too speechless to write any more junk.... A DAMN good drawing/painting... whatever-ing... A damn good one!

:-) Anna Skult replies: "Glad to hear it! ^-^ Thank you very much for your comment, Jan!"

Probably one of the best out of all yours

Wow I love the soft cool colors in this pic. Oddly enough she looks disturbingly similar to a friend I have named Amber. Her face is absolutly perfect as well as the background and the shading. *goggles* Almost makes me wish I was talented at a visual art rather than my pitiful playing with the english language.
Criticisms (do you mind?)
The hand starts off well but then ends up looking a bit odd and like it couldnt really hold the book. The guitar looks 2 demensional while the rest looks startlingly real.
Sierra
ps I just noticed I really like her collar bones. Did you have a reference?

3 Anna Skult replies: "Ani: Gosh, thanks for your second comment! 12 Let me start off with saying that writing is something just as visual, even if in another sense, as drawing or painting, and there's no way you can argue with that! *waves finger warningly* =P
Anyway, about your pointers (which are very wanted, btw) - I used a reference picture of a friend of mine, to get the pose. And she wasn't holding a book in that picture, so that might be why the hand is looking all limp >_< Thanks for pointing it out. And the lute - don't know what to say =D It was last-minute. And the collar bone was "invented", as it wasn't visable in the reference-picture =P A lovely comment! So thanks for that, Sierra! ^_^ "

Very great. Love the shading. One day I’ll learn to draw too...
By the way, we’re neighbours, I am Swede 2.

:-) Anna Skult replies: "Hi! Glad you like it, and hopefully you’ll start drawing someday 2 Thanks for commenting!"
